Deputy Chairperson

Shri Guruprasad Rai, graduated from Karnataka University in Civil Engineering in the year 1985.  Joined Port sector initially during construction of JNPT Port, with Mitsui & Co., Japan from 1986 to 1989 and worked with leading Consultants M/s HOWE INDIA  Pvt. Ltd., from 1989 to 1991.  Shri  G.P. Rai joined JNPT as Superintendent (Asst. Executive Engineer) in 1991 and  elevated to the post of Manager (Port Planning and Development) in September, 2002.

Shri G.P. Rai was appointed as Chief Engineer in Cochin Port Trust in May, 2010. Promoted as Chief Engineer in Mumbai Port Trust in March 2015.  Shri G. P. Rai has now been appointed by the Ministry of Shipping as Dy. Chairman, Mormugao Port Trust from January 30, 2016.

 Shri G.P. Rai has undergone training in Port Management at Antwerp, Belgium; handling of PPP Projects at IIM, Bangalore and several other trainings, especially in Port development.
